Yarn

This is yarn from the first batch of hand dyed FOLK created at FOLK Yarn Studio.

I’m burning up a sun just to say goodbye is my Tennant inspired colourway from my past Who inspired collection, I wanted to choose one of my past colourways to dye on FOLK in the first hand dyed batch and this was one of my absolute favourites!

FOLK Yarn is our unique blend of East Anglian Yarn.

Created just for FOLK our yarn is a blend of 60% Romney, 20% BFL and 20% Suffolk sheep fibre.

You can choose between 2 yarn weights for FOLK:

Fingering Weight 2ply   100g/400m

DK Weight 3ply   100g/ 210m

FOLK is a non-superwash treated yarn.

This 100% Wool is sourced from all over East Anglia, processed in Yorkshire and brought back to us in Lowestoft without a single air mile from sheep to end product.

Every skein of FOLK sold means that we can look to produce our next run of our yarn line, we would love to create more colours, and increase our undyed quantity to create more indie dyed FOLK too. Most importantly your FOLK purchase means we can continue to support the British Wool Industry, whilst also getting to enjoy some squish on the needles!

A note from Laura…

Thank you for taking a look at FOLK here on the site! I still can’t believe I’m actually holding the end product after more than a year or dreaming, planning and hoping! Personally I can be a bit fussy when it comes to 100% wool fibre yarn. When FOLK arrived I was equal parts nervous and excited, and upon opening the box and reading how lovely and squishy FOLK was all my nerves melted away. I think FOLK is a gorgeous texture still in the skein, however you will also notice that the yarn blooms and softens even more when blocked with wool wash!

These colours of FOLK have been hand dyed and as with many yarns, you may experience colour bleeding when first blocking your project.
